Where could this coolant be coming from??!!
Well I haven't even started my new engine yet and I already have a small leak I think. I was filling my radiator up with coolant today and like 15 or 20 minutes later I noticed a few drops of coolant hitting the wood under my car. It's actually dripping from right above where the SLP y-pipe comes together. I'm not sure if this is the same as the stock y-pipe, but it's just below the blower box and heater hoses. The car was up on jackstands and the front end was slightly higher than the rear. I really don't know where it could have been leaking. I spilled some coolant into the battery tray area and I'm hoping some ran back and was dripping. The only other thoughts I have are the lower heater hose that connects to the metal heater hose or some type of block/head leak. Any other ideas?? Keep in mind the car hasn't been run yet at all.

When my heater core went out, coolant was leaking through the body onto my ypipe and burning. Try bypassing the heater core and see if the problem is fixed, then you get to replace the core.

I don't see how it could be leaking from the intake because the car hasn't been started yet so there is probably no coolant back there at this time. As far as the heater core, I hope not. There really shouldn't be any coolant there yet either. I did turn the heater controls to on when I started filling up, but still no pressure in the system.

buy, rent, or borrow a cooling system tester and put some preasure on the system. see if it holds, see if it makes it leak any more.

I presume that you have already done this but I'll say it anyway, be sure all of your coolant clamps are tight and then do what ede says.
You have the cam break-in exercise to go through and you just don't need coolant leakage problems, unless very minor. There is enough going on at that time.
My lower radiator hose blew off, what a mess.
Then I fastened it back on and re-filled the radiator but apparently failed to re-fill the entire system and then a hi-temp crisis.
You just don't need that and as long as you already have a clue, fix it.

Yeah I'm back at school for the week but I'll definately get a pressure tester on the system before I try to start it. I just hope it's not a major leak because I put 4 gallons of 50/50 mix in today and I don't think my parents want it on their driveway during the course of the week.
