Whenever my car gets hot or warmed up even, if i turn it off, it won't start back up unless i get a jumpstart or let the engine cool off. The battery cables are new and the battery is new. the car wont even turn over when its hot. the starter will click once. i replaced the starter in march. please help.

I had the same problem with my 89 too. I bet you probable have headers. I found that what was happening was that my headers and exhaust on long trips on hot days would cook the starter. Normally you could let the car sit for a long time and it would start up but it would crank slowly. If you tried immediately it just seemed to kill the battery. I fixed mine just by buying a starter heat shield and putting it in when I replaced the starter. It should take care of the problem.

I think that you can get em from advanced auto or some place like it. I got mine from a performance store in PA when I lived there. OR --> http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerc...58&prmenbr=361
