"brown water" leaking from around water pump area

I have "Brown Water" that slowly leaks from around my water pump area. It normally only leaks a little, maybe 15 drops, and only does so after the engine has stopped and the car has been sitting. Some of the water just leaks onto the ground, and some of it collects around my belt area and on my pullies. ANy ideas whay might be causing this?

The water is not hot, it is not oil, and does not seem to be coolant.

Since the only source of water under your hood is your coolant, and since it's coming from the water pump, I would suspect that your water pump is leaking. Coolant can quite often turn brown from all of the rust it gathers.

Your lower radiator hose or heater hose from the intake manifold to the heater valve could be leaking.

Could be a hose but I doubt it. Better change the water pump before it gets too cold outside. While your at it flush your cooling system as best as you can, that fluid should NOT be brown.
