Well, I have a .030" 350 with flat tops, pistons are .045" in the hole, with 76cc 882 heads, it's only about 8.3:1 CR and I am running a Comp 268XE cam, Wieand action plus dual plane, and Q-jet.
It's in my S10, the cam's really mis matched to the CR but it was the first SBC I had put together at the time, though I have built lots of other engines.
It rear wheel dynoe'd 201hp@5000 and 248 ft/lbs of torque@3400. Pulls really hard 2500-5000, but then falls flat rapidly as the heads don't flow over 5000. Figure 20% drivetrain loss and it's around 240hp at the crank. It is reliable, I have about 35,000 mile on it, lots of long trips and 1/8 mile dragstrip passes, I blew a hole in the rad and the temp gauge didn't work reading steam as it lost coolant so fast, I got it hot enough to discolor the paint on the block but it cranked right back up when cooled down. I haven't been able to kill it and lord knows I have tired.
If yours has a calculated 9.5:1 CR and roller rockers it'll do maybe 15 horse more than mine. You can always swap heads in the future and get more out of it. But it should make 250-270 or so at the crank. In any case it's going to feel like a top fueler compared to the tired 305 you used to have. Enjoy it.

I'd like to think you'll be at 300hp or a little more at the flywheel. That may not be a whole lot compared to some of us,but don't let some of these sarcastic bastards ruin your fun,a 300 hp mill in a 3rd gen is still pretty fun,and will make a great driver.Just enjoy it,I'm sure it's a ton better than anything GM chose to drop in for us.Good luck, sounds like a fun little driver
