Help w/ crank pulley

Anyone know any tips ar tricks to removing the center nut out of the crank pulley?. A friend of mine is working on a 86 camaro and he called me and asked if i knew. I told him to get a chain wrench but he claims no one has one. And the one place he did find, they wanted a $100 bucks for it.He said Advanced and the Auto Zone don't have them to loan out. He has an automatic so putting it in gear wouldn't stop the crank from turning. The pulley has no holes in it so he can't put something through it to hold it. I'm at a loss on what to tell him.

He can rig up a strap wrench with a fanbelt, or buy one for less than 20 bucks. Or get a flywheel turning tool...but will require two people, one on each end. Or, and impact wrench if he has air, or an electric one if he doesn't.

Worst comes to worse, breaker bar, socket...bar down to the ground on the right (facing engine) and bump the starter (disconnect coil first).
