L98 Weight?

Anyone know what an 88 L98 engine (complete) weighs? Need same for 700R4 too.

Doing LS1 swap and have someone interested in the pull out but need to ship.

Any good shipping company recommendations also appreciated.

Discussion a few weeks ago showed the 700R4 at 150lbs, IIRC. An ironheaded SBC shuold be in the 500-550 range...I think there used to be a site called "engineweights.com" or similar.

You could try checking crate engine places online and get an accurate shipping wieght, those plastic tubs and the packing couldn't weigh anymore than 20-30lbs

tranny weight is aboutright. I shipped my 4L60-E w/o convertor. That plus the box that comes w/the trampoline fromwally world & some reenforcing cardboard weighed in @ 149lbs. UPS will ship up to 150.
