Pulleys, oil leak fr. crank
When I put on crank/alt pulleys, when removing the old crank pulley, some oil dripped out through the damper behind it. Should I be concerned about this? I just wiped up the drips of oil and put on the new smaller pulley... is it normal for a little oil to come out like this?
BTW, my $.02 re. the pulleys - definitely seeing the power drop at idle (6-700), down to 12- V range w/lights dimming, but normal charging ~14 V above idle... I do a lot of city driving with this (to/from school), so I'll post if this causes any problems (e.g., kills new battery). A definite bit of increased more low-end power, so I'm happy.

Pulleys and exhaust are next!

Thats usually just oil that creeps up the snout of the crank between the balancer.
No biggie.

If you think it's leaking at the balancer, they make a sleeve ($2) to put on it to seal up to the timing cover correctly where the seal usually wears a groove in the balancer neck. You have to have a machine shop press it on, but it will save you alot of money over a new balancer ($75). Check with your local machine shop, they probably have several in stock since this is a common Chevy problem.
