Quick easy question .....is this right (pic inside)>>?

I dont think it would be any other way...

but the reason I needed this is because I just put in a Pro-Built stage 3 700r4 and even after adjusting it it shifts too early ....but this little sping set up is suppose to keep it from pulling too far out when adjusting it ... and makeing it shif later

anyway this might be common to you but I have never used or seen one

but to thoes who have ..does it look right??

I was just thinking that I was wrong in thinking that the cable was being pulled out too much to make it shift to early ...

it obviously wasn't pulling it out enough before..

but anyway that should correct it...

So my question really is do I have it placed on there correctly ????

Well judging from the picture and the way that the TV cable works, it should make the trans shift at it's latest, quickest, and hardest at anything over somewhere around 3/4 throttle since the TV valve will be 'seeing' WOT shifting requests at an earlier time.

I've never seen one of those springs either, though...

Nope, thats not right...

That spring goes where the minimum air screw is located on the TB... It provides tension on the threads to make adjustment precise. Take it off, put it in the right spot, reset the TV and have fun

I dont see ina anyway that that could be placed there ...are you shure have you seen/used one before ???

I'm not doubting you but I dont see how that could work and how that would be to any use...

unless I'm missing something I think that is where its supposed to go to create higher tension on the TV cable...

anyone with any info will help
Thanks

I don't think so. There is no room in the minimum air screw bore for that spring assembly. How would that have any effect on the transmission's shifting if it was for the minimum air screw? The more I think about it, I bet that spring is just there to buffer the movement of the TV cable so that a sudden WOT pull won't move the adjustment of the TV cable...... Not sure... Have you driven the car with this on there? If so, how does it drive with it on that way?

Have you tried to email ProBuilt about this?

I think you have it right but I just haven't ever seen or heard of one of these things myself.

Matt

I think you are right as well...putting a spring where the min. air screw is wouldnt achive a thing "except a really high idle" besides there is know way to mount/do anything to the screw with this spring and plastic clip deal..

I havent driven it yet but I will soon(front end needs to be put back together)... "should have time tom."

I have tried to call Dana at Pro-Built but I think he's been gone for a while

I know he said that "the cable went threw the spring "

I think it is right the way it is..

I still dont know wich way adjustment will do what (in/out)= ?

but I know that it was shifting @3400-3600- RPM before and when I put the spring and clip on it pulled it out much futher so I asume that pulling it out will make it shift later..... not shure yet ???

I'll have a good idea when I drive it next
but I am almost positive that is, well the only way I see it can go on anything....I just dont know why they want to use a spring there , why not just a spacer or something

Thanks Matt and everyone else for the help !

If anyone knows anything else it would be a great help

Well, whatever guys... I have a spring in my MIA screw bore and it works great... there is also a spring in the MIA screw bore on the TB that I just got from the junkyard, so you tell me... it might be different for the V6's.. I don't know, but I doubt it...

I'm just telling you my info... believe me or not...

Ohhhhh, hah, I just reread everything... I didn't know that came -with- the tranny... I thought you had taken everything apart...

Well, regardless, there is a spring in the MIA screw bore, but if this setup came with the tranny, then it probably doesn't go there...

On stock units, there is no spring at all, just the clip that holds the line in place...

Sorry for the mix up, your best bet would be to get in touch with Pro Built...
