Firewall ground was rubbing against the coil

My coil has the exposed magnet on the coil and my ground strap was touching this magnet. I re-routed the ground so it won't touch now but I was wondering if that could cause any problems with the car?

You mean the metal "square" that surrounds a stock remote-mount coil mounted down on the intake? If so, it doesn't matter. That "ring" is intentionally grounded through the coil mounting bracket anyway so they're both grounded to the same thing- the engine block.
