Firebird GTA question

I am looking into buying a 1991-92 Firebird GTA, but want to ask anyone that knows alot about the good/bad things about them.

If anyone could tell me or give me any information about them, please do so. I am debating getting this car for more reliability then my previous 82 TA that I had (which had TOO many problems to).

hmm, 91-92 i think ur getting in the rare years there. especialy 92. the problems pretty much depend on the car. my 88 gta has next to zero problems. with exception of headlight motors.

Hey man, this is just my opinion. I love the cars. I never had the years you are talking about, but have had two GTA's. I had a 1988, and the 1989 I have now. The reason I have the 89 now, is because I sold the 88 like an Idiot and I was sick until I got another. Depending on the money you spend, and the shape of the car, it will depend on how much money you will have to put into the car, or how reliable it may be. I have had my car about 7 months now and it was very well maintained, but I have sunk about $1000 into it. Of course not all the things I did were neccesary, like exhaust, etc. But things will happen and you need to be prepared for that. If you do not rag the car out, it should be pretty reliable for you. The cars come stock with some pretty nice options. I love the cars! For me it is just GTA's. If I had the money, I would buy a few. I sure some others in here can offer you some more advice also. Welcome to the group also!

Mike

Thanks for everyones replies on the GTA.

I think im going to go for it. I found some cars available in CA that im going to look into.

Thanks for the welcome WestCoastGTA, you talk my language with what I need to know.

I have an 82 CFI TA. I would LOVE to put money into it and keep it forever, but with the job I have and the lack of money presently that's coming in, I want something more dependable (newer). Don't wanna go for those Honda's, I want to stick with the muscle cars, so that's when I decided to look into the GTA's.

I'll let you guys know how it goes, and if anyone else has any other input, or any website info that would help me learn more about the GTA's, please let me know.

Thanks again!

Hey Gohkuo, glad you are thinking about getting a GTA. I have to agree with Breathment, the GTAsourcepage, is the best site around for your all around GTA info. It is a great site. This is a great site for info also. But the sourcepage is specially just for GTA's. Update us if you find one man.
Take care
Mike
