Spark Plug Wires - which type?
I want to change my spark plugs & spark plug wires for my 92 RS (305 TBI) this weekend but I am not sure which type wires to get. I want to get the bosch platinum +4 spark plugs and the Moroso Blue Max 8 mm spiral core spark plug wires. My question is do I buy the 8mm custom fit wires or the 8mm universal fit wires w/ 90* boots? Can someone please advise.
Thx!

I would go with the Moroso plugs, but don't waste your money on those spark plugs. They're useless. The only advantage of platinum is they will last longer, but the traditional kind will provide a better spark. At least this is what I have been told.

Get the 90* boots, but if you go with the universal fit, you will have to cut the wires to a certain length and put the boots on yourself and crimp them. Custom fit matches to your vehicle/engine code and are put together already.

You're not going to notice a big difference in spark plugs. Some people just use the good ole AC delco ones, I usually buy autolite ones though. I'm no expert though. You might want to try and search the archives about spark plugs if no one else replies.

The MSD 8.5mm wires are the best; I recommend those. If you get MSD ignition and a coil, get regular AC Delco plugs and gap 'em a little more.

I got moroso blue max custom wires but I wish I had got universal. the custom set really sucks, the wires do not really have much of a logical length. one of the wires had to be tight against the exhaust manifold to go on the plug(the #8 wire). I'd go with universal. I'm running platinum +4s, but don't really notice any difference. I'm getting plain platinums next time.

I guess I'll go against the group. 8mm wires are plenty for most street cars. I just put 8mm Accel yellow wires and I got straight boot universal fit. The 90 degree boots that were on my car put the wires either into the exhaust or the hot air tubes. I bought chrome 4-3-2-1 wire looms made for side bolt valve covers, 1 small bend in the mounting tabs and they fit the center bolt covers perfectly. Now my wires stand out against the black engine and run nice and straight across the valve covers. The straight boots let the wires stand away from all the hot parts.

The best spark plugs I have ever used are the regular Bosch Platinums. (I have not used the 4 prong Bosches.) No kidding, your car will just run smoother. They are that good and they don't cost much more than regular AC Delcos.
