wrong serpentine belt??

I was just trying to replace my serpertine belt the other day, and sure enough, it was the wrong length (5060945). At first, I thought that it got labeled wrong, so I bought another one.....same problem. The car has always used a stock-length belt, even with high-output alternator (with a slightly smaller pulley). The old belt is so old that the numbers are long gone. I think 5060930 will work, as it's 1.5 inches shorter, but I still don't know what's going on here. Has anyone experienced this?? Thanks for your help.
