Real Quick Question Help Me Out
Before I start I just want to let everyone know I searched and didn't find my answer. I just picked up a set of 16" 91-92 z28 wheels for my 92' RS. Right now the car has the stock 15" rims with 235/60/15 tires and drum brakes. My question is for the rear wheels can I bolt the 16" rims up without a spacer or do I have to have a spacer for the rear wheels??? By the way the tires on the 16" rims are 245/50/16. I know the fronts will bolt up without a problem. Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

spacers
I did the same thing on my T/A. I used a set of 2front/2rear 16" formula wheels and it looks as if I need to put at least a one inch spacer on the rears. I also have front tires that are rubbing just a little on the front portion of the inner fenders.
The car is at the body shop being restored right now. But when I get it back at the end of Oct. I am going to look into a set of bolt on 1 1/4 inch hub eccentric spacers. Unless I bolted the wheels on backasswards, don't think I did, but I might not have taken my meds that day. lol!

Well I put the rims on today and didn't have a problem with them rubbing. I am going to go ahead and get the spacers anyway to be safe. Thanks for all the help

How did they fit up front. Just curious because of the huge offset difference between the front and rear. Or did the 15" have the same offset? I know the older ones don't.

Everything fit up perfect, the car looks like it left the factory with the 16" wheels on it. I will take a pic tomorrow and post it up.

I think the "spacer" that came from the factory was just there to keep the hot drums from welding themselves to the aluminum wheels.
I could be wrong, but with as thin as they are I can't imagine they're actually providing any space behind the wheel.

That could be possible, I know the spacer itself isn't much.
