(#%! I saw an article on the net on this that was very detailed but I cant find it. It had things such as gas stabilizer, put rags in the tail pipes so rats dont nest in there, tire pressure recomendations, put down plywood to absorb moisture or something....

well first check to see what you might have lost after it was sitting, like oil or tranny fluid on the ground, if it looks clean or that very little has driped out, it should be fine.
check your coolent
check around engine too see if you have any nests
also since it sat for a year all the crap in the oil would have settled in the bottom, i would drain the oil toi get all that crap out.
if you have a carb or TBI, right before you start it, dump a half a cup of fuel down the intake, then start.
oh yea, dont forget to bring a extra battery in case the one in the car is dead.
after running the car check fluids again, the car might smoke or smell different for a while, old gas burns a little different.
Have fun

Thanks, I had already done everything you listed. Just changed the oil this morning. Good news, after a starter and new battery she started up. The car sounds pretty good too.
Appreciated,

Take it easy on the go fast pedal till you burn up the old gas that was left in there. It loses it octane rating over time which could lead to detonation. Wouldn't hurt to add a 1/4 tank of premium to bring up the octane a bit. Other than that, sounds like you have everything covered.
