IROC & GTA steering column.. question

I have an '89 ASC GTA with the steering wheel radio controls.. and the column is getting a little messed up, and I have the column from my '88 Iroc. They have the same options, except for the radio controls. Will the iroc column cause a big problem if I try to use it in the GTA?

p.s. keeping the radio controls are not a concern

Define 'messed up'

And to answer your question:
Yea, it will work fine.

Does the '88 have VAT's? I think your '89 does.

The steering wheel is extremely loose, and feels like it's about to fall off in my hand. I'm going to go try to tighten the screws in a few minutes.
And yes, they both have the PASS key thingie

Well, generally a loose column is the 4 screws that hold the tilt mechanism together, fix that (make sure you use loctite on the bolts unless you wanna do it again) and it will be fine.

I looked at it before, and a bunch of the bearing ***** were all over the floor under then column, not good. I ended up just swapping out the column and re-using the lock cylinder for the VATS. But thanks for the advice, guys, it bolted right up!

Now all i need to do is replace the power steering line i busted getting it apart and life is good
