Too much power?

Hey, I was just about to start the process of rebuilding my engine when I came across what I thought could be a problem. I'm going to stroke my 305 and probably put a supercharger on it. I hope to get close to 400hp with a coupla other mods. Is this to much power for my rear end? Will it hold up under 400horses? If not, what kind of rear end is the best to use? Thanx.

i would say it would be fine, the 305 doesnt make a whole ton of torque, and if your just going to run regualr street radial tires you'll be fine.

Are you changing your heads or cam while your at it? Just currious as my cars in pieces at the moment being rebuilt. I'm building it for a supercharger and am looking to make about 330-350bhp naturally aspirated.

Good luck and e-mail me if you like.

Thanx, I'll just try my 3.23 posi and if it breaks then I guess I'll check on a new one. I'm fairly new at the whole supercharger thing, so if I have any questions I'll definitly email or post them. Thanx again.

You'll probably need to rebuild the trans to handle that power as well.
