Pre '87 heads on a post '87 motor will they fit?

Can anyone tell me if I can use my 305 S/R torquer heads model 42650-1 on a 1988 305 non roller block?.

The only differance, best I can tell is the intake manifold face and bolt holes are made to fit pre-'87 intakes.

Am I wrong? will I need different length pushrods or can I reuse the ones I have in the '88 motor.? ( so long as they check out OK)

Thanks for the help

They'll fit. I have mine on a '91 crate motor block.

Pushrod length is a function of the type of lifters being used (flat vs. roller). If your original '88 had rollers, then you'll need the longer stock length, '86-earlier, for a non-roller block & cam.

I have the same type of setup. Pre 87 heads, and post 87 intake. It will be no problem at all except the 4 middle holes on the intake. 2 ways to fix it: buy a new intake, or, wollow(SP?) out the 4 holes so that it will line up. That's the way mine was done and if you like I'll take a picture and post.

Hope that helps.
