Temp sensor wiring?
I bought a new temp sensor, it has 2 wires a black one and a yellow one. Which wire is for what? Does the sensor get ground from the block or what? No I dont have an original temp sensor, nor do I have original wiring, so I cant tell from that. Any ideas? I tried different variations with my temp gauge, but nothign really seemed to work.

That is a coolant temp sensor for the ECM. It has nothing whatsoever to do with the gauge, except that they both happen to be immersed in coolant.
I can't begin to guess whether that would work a gauge. Somehow I rather doubt it though.
You are correct about its wiring, the black wire goes to ground, and the yellow wire goes to the ECM.
A temp gauge sending would have one terminal, and a dark green wire will go to it.
