quick question here
about a week ago i noticed my 82 t/a was not proforming like it should, it felt slower and felt like initial torque was down a bit..
also the car will try to die out sometimes after about 4-5 minities of idleing..
could it be that my timing is all of a sudden off? or maybe my idle needs to be adjusted.. or maybe something else you can think of..

HOw long has it been since you changed the fuel filter? Air filter? Start with the simple things first. Did you run your fuel down real low?

 

i recently changed the fuel filter and put in a open case 14inch K&N filter about 2 weeks bebore this happened.. the night before i ran the car kinna hard before the engine got to warm up, and the next day when i went to drive it, i found my torque was down atlest 40%. i could barley even spin the tires off the line..
if anyone has any ideas what coulda went wrong, please give me a little insight..

you may have blown a gasket. vacuum leaks will kill power. spray some carb cleaner around the base of your carb, and sround the intake to see if your RPMs jusp. if they do, then you need to rrplace the gasket(s).
