Engine issues and questions

I have found an engine that needs to be rebuilt. The guy was running 8 PSI through it. He said that oil was spurting out of the dipstick. Now, i know this is not a healthy thing. Could this be cured by a simple rebuild or does it sound like more extensive damage?

it seems to me that maybe the dipstick tube is just not sealed right. Try putting some permatex around where the dipstick goes in(take it out, put the permatex on, put it back in, let it sit for awhile to dry and cure). This should fix that problem, and if it doesn't then you preobably have bigger problems than that

Could be it's got excessive blowby, probably just the rings are worn, boost going past them and pressure building into the crankcase.

Could be a hole in a piston(s).

But regardless of the problem, a tear down would be in order, as long as the cylinder walls are good enough to bore, there should be no issues with a rebuild.

Yep, major blow-by is probably the culprit.Last car I had with oil pumping out the dipstick tube was because #7 piston had pinched top ring (detonation) which ended up creating a hole in the piston. All that pressure has to go somewhere.
