Not thirdgen but still GM

Over this Christmas break, I have to do a couple things on my Mom's 1995 Oldsmobile 88 LSS. It has the 3400 V6 engine. I have to replace the tensioner and the struts. My dad didn't say wether just the front or all 4 are going to be done, so I'm asuming 4. Does it have shocks or struts? I'm not sure and I'm not there to look at it. Can someone tell me a few things to help or point me to a resource online that can help me? I'll probably get a Chilton book, but we know how iffy those and haynes manuals are. Thanks.

I'm not 100% on this, but it should have struts. Also, it should have 6 spark plugs, not 4.

you can call a muffler shop like mieneke, they usually do shocks/struts there also. call them up and ask them what the car has. or you can just look under there, shocks and struts are easy to see and you can figure out what it has.

85 berl, who said anything about spark plugs?

Not to doubt your strut skills "Im 99% it has a 4 strut system" But Sears and Mieneke usually offer specials $88-100 per side. I personally would rather have them do it since there is almost no actual labor cost involved.
Just a though.

Dude, sorry about that. I don't even know where that spark plug thing came from.

I'll tell dad to look into that. If it is basically just parts and not much labor cost it would be fine with me to have them do it.
Berl: Thanks for letting me know how many spark plugs there are. I wasn't sure how many a v-6 has. Could you tell me where I could find some muffler bearings so I can smooth out her exhaust?
