Ok, I turn it on, push the botton... nothing. Keep pushing it, hold it in... wait the pedal feels different... wait oh damn... try it again wait it's working, wait, why did I just drop 10 MPH? Well at least it's holding... kinda...

If I press the lever all the way over, it works better but instead of keeping a constant throttle, the engine surges to maintain speed...

So what's wrong? Most of the vacuum lines are good. The ones that havn't been replaced are still semi-ok.

Check you vaccum diaphram. It's easy to find, just follow the cable from the throttle.

 

What am i checking on it?

Sliding the lever all the way over doesn't even really work... The whole thing is screwed up...

So someone gimme a diagnostic chart... (Vader )

 

On mine you have to push the button to set it, then touch the gas then let go, it will get up to speed then stop accelerating, it will drop back down in speed until I tap the gas again and then it goes back up to speed, slows down, etc. WHY IS THIS?
