Gold race rockers kicking my @$$!! (little long)
Anybody, somebody, please help! I've had these rockers for over a year now, heck, I even put them on myself! Long story short, I went to adjust them for the hell of it and now the motor runs like crap. I’ve posted a few days ago and tried the reply given to no luck. I check all of my pushrods and none seem bent. I don’t know how to check if a lifter is bad, if anybody has info on that, please, let me know. Also, why do the installation instructions for the CGR rockers recommend installing them one cylinder at a time? Why can’t you do it the way Chevy explains? I would also like to validate what Chilton’s has in the book.
#1 firing position Exh - 1,3,4,8 Int - 1,2,5,7 rotate one full turn Exh - 2,5,6,7 Int - 3,4,6,8
“Remove lash from the pushrod and then I additional turn”
Also, could I have a bad or sticking valve?
Thanks in advance!
Scott

I dont know what chiltons says...I do them like this
Rotate engine till #1 cylinder intake valve has just closed, rotate just a little past that point.
Adjust both valves in that cylinder.
Repeat for all other cylinders...

R.I.P. #3

i think i do it like engine boy, i just start at #1 with both valves closed and adjust then go to # 3 and so on down the line. it makes me having to turn the engine a lot more with a ratchet but it keeps my head a lot straighter and less confussed that way.

Oh kids are you going to like this one!
Picture this: Taking off the passenger side valve cover off. Pain in the rear right?
Picture pulling a plug wire out of the cap just enough to cut the cylinder but not enough so it stays under the distributer cover.
Pretty sneaky sis! That was the problem a along. Ughh.
