no power after 3500rpm

I have 86 Z28 LG4 auto rebuilt carb(it helped). Full accelleration pulls ok for an old engine until about 3500rpm,any gear. i am guessing advance issue or plugged cat? Idle and cruise up to that point are fine. thanks
