would these things keep from passing inspection??
would these things keep from passing inspection??
Ok my friend has a 1970 Ford Torino, and they will not pass it because
(1) it doesn't have a charcoal canister (i didn't know they had charcoal canisters on 1970 cars),
(2) it has an aftermarket aircleaner assembly (im guessing because it has no
heat riser??)
(3) the powersteering pump doesn't work (can we take it off and say it didn't
come with powersteering?)
do these things sound like something that would keep it from passing? or is the
guy being REALLY strict? and another thing that pissed us off was this guy said
that if we couldn't get it passing that he'd sure like to buy it from me
friend!!!!! we couldn't believe he asked that,

They didn't have those cansters in the early 70's and I dont see the reason for the air cleaner. That car should only have 70's smog regulations enforced because it dosn't fit the regulations for today's cars.
thats bull****. Take it to some gomer who won't know the diffrence.
the only thing I would fuss over is the power steering pump, thats kinda a safety issue.
That guy was just being an ******* about the other stuff. Guess who his friends come to when they need thier inspections done???
I wonder if all his cars have all thier emissions equipment on them? I ****ing doubt it.
Sorry to hear about that.
If you get screwed somewhere else, i would just go to a junkyard, and buy the canister and air filter assembly, and hook them up for an hour every time you need a sticker.
Good luck!
