Egr Q

Any idea what kind of an impact getting rid of EGR will have on highway mileage? Will it have any effect at all?

1 MPG is the rule of thumb i've heard.

however it keeps the engine running cleaner I think, and it doesn't rob any power whatsoever...

Why remove it? broken?

I didn't see a change when I took mine out. Mine was stuck open so I just cut a peice of metal and blocked it off. Haven't had any problems so far- it's been about 2 years.

Yeah, you're good. Don't worry about EGR unless you have emissions testing in your state. If you do have emissions testing, you will need EGR.

All the EGR does is re-burn some of the exhaust gasses to lower the NOx levels at the tail pipe. If you don't have to test then don't worry about it. And unless the car has NOx sensers before and aft the converter, the ecm should not even throw a code as long as you bump up the fuel psi a tad. If your car does have the two NOx sensers, then replace them with sims after you remove the EGR valve.

I see you are going to use the stealth ram? You going to use the factory ECM or an aftermarket?
