jesel and i think comp have the ones that i've saw on cars at the race track. belts are pretty high dollar and very specialized parts and not needed for a street engine.

What ede said is the case, a belt setup won't make your 305 any faster...for what these cost the money is better spent elsewhere.

Go with a cam and a better carb as your sig says. Get a good double-roller chain setup (Cloyes) and you'll be happy.

so you guys have tried belts and didn't get any faster? did you change around the cam position to see if that gave better et's?

You can do that with a chain. You don't have to spend $600 to discover that it was already fine the way it was.

What is it you are really asking?

Another thing, a timing belt wont last as long on the street as on the track were you have limited time with the engine spinning.

The money you'd have to spend to convert that could be better spent converting it to timing gears instead of timing chain.

My newest Ride:

'85 Silver L98 Corvette w/4+3 manual tranny. not bad for $3500.

Nope, haven't tried a timing belt to see if it will lower my ET.

Also haven't tried carbon fiber valve covers, 8" exhaust tip, or a sticker with Calvin whizzing on a Ford emblem for the same reason.

If ya wanna make more power, move more air and fuel thru the engine.
