i have a couple questions, i tried using the search engine first but i couldnt find the specific answers. i recently bought the jet six pack chip ugrade and the jet 180 degree thermastat. i havent installed them yet, hopefully i will get to it this weekend. i was wondering if i would be doing any damage to the engine by using a cooler thermastat. i read on this forum that going too low will not allow the engine to run at the proper temp. but is 180 still too low, it is what jet recommended?
thanks, nick

180* is probably what the most people around here use. Anything lower isn't really advised from what I've read.

In warm or hot weather, I use a 180* thermo, and in winter I use 195*.

I see you are in CA... you should be good with 180*

yeah i am in sacamento, we have very hot summers.
thanks for the info.
would it be best to switch to a higher thermastat in the winter or what temperature is too cold for 180* therm?

How cold do your winters get? Ours are down to -50* or worse sometimes...

It gets like 40s at night during the summer around here. Just use 180* all year round.

I'm up the hill from you in Placerville, and I run a 180 year round. You will be fine with a 180.
