Spark Plug Misfire or what?

Hello,

Recently I just changed my spark plugs in my 1990 RS with an L03 and 700R4. They were gapped correctly at .035. I have been driving, and it seems there's a slight bucking when I am in overdrive and the Transmission wants to shift back into 3rd. It usually happens when I have my foot about 3/4 of the way on the throttle and right before it shifts from OD back into 3rd, it starts bucking back and forth slightly. Also when I am stopped at a stop light it only does it about once every 2 minutes or so.

My question is, is did I install something wrong when I was doing the spark plugs? If it were a misfire, wouldn't it do it all the time, just not under a certain engine load? All of the Delcos came gapped at .035 (Atleast the first 3 did so I assumed they all were), could maybe one of them not be gapped right? Did I possibly not put a spark plug wire on correctly?

Could somebody please tell me what I might have done wrong? I really need to get this fixed because I feel one day it's going to leave me stranded. I drove about 120 miles today and every time I would go up a hill on the freeway, and I put the throttle on more in OD, it would start bucking... what could it be?

Thanks alot in advance. I appreciate any suggestions.

Sounds more like a torque converter clutch malfunction to me...do the rpms rise and fall by 200 or so when it bucks, like you can hear the motor rev up?

Do this, flip the switch, and see if your problem disappears. Just be aware that this does cause extra strain on the converter, and dont drive around with the switch flipped. During deceleration, shut it down, and in any lower gear don't use it, also dont use it during hard acceleration.

Hey, thanks alot for your reply and I really appreciate it!!!

however, it turned out to be that the porcelain on one of the spark plugs was cracked and had to be replaced.

thanks anyways though!
