85 Trans am TBI??

85 Trans am TBI??

Just go this 85 T/A, when the key is first turned to on it sounds like there is an injector pumping, and on the enige it looks like an injector, but looks like it s in a damn quadrajet? whats the deal with this??? I thought it would be TPI or 4bbl?? IS this some form of TBI?

yes. Thirdgen's came with TBI. Dont know if 85's had them but its possible the car had an engine swap.

Some carbureted cars had electric fuel pumps. In '85, a TA would have had a QuadraJet or TPI. A base model may have had TBI - On a four cylinder. Either someone swapped engines, or it's not a TA, or it's not TBI.

the car is carburated, but has an injector type deal on it, clicks just like one. Maybe its just an electric controlled carb, not to familiar with the gm fuel system stuff.

Computer Command Carburetor. Commonly called computer controlled carb around here, or CCC.

That's the Mixture Control Solenoid cycling. If you leave the ignition on but don't start the engine, it should stop in 10-20 seconds.
