Whats this noise?

It got steadily worse, the car is in storage now way far away from me so I am going to have to take care of this in the spring, but I need an Idea of whats wrong. It squealed occasionally when I was on the road, either accelerating or at constant speed, but the squeal would go away when I applied the brakes, the sound has gotten progressively worse since. I replaced the U-joints believing it was them, it was not. My dad is convinced that one of my brake pistons is getting stuck and has woen the pas to the metal. My origional thought was that it was an axle bearing, any other thoughts??

It needs brake pads (or at least thinks it does). It's the "audible wear sensor", a little tab of sheet metal riveted onto one of the pads, contacting the rotor. That's supposed to be the "dummy alert" for a brake job.
