oil pressure confusion

My oil pressure on my 90 formula is goofy. Sometimes it works properly, but sometimes it drops when a load is on the engine. The pressure is fine at idle, but drops hard in fifth and sixth gear. Is this the pump, sending unit or what? Please help!!!!

It shouldn't be stationary--moving around is OK.
Stock guages and senders aren't that accurate--even when new.
The old 10 psi per 1000rpm is plenty of pressure.
We can tell you more if you give us a specific pressure at a specific rpm. In 5th and 6th gear the rpm is probably fairly low, causing a lower pressure.

I forgot to mention that the amp guage drops down to about 10 volts when this happens. The car loses no power and runs fine. It goes from about 30 pounds to 0 when I let out on the clutch at 1500 to 2000 RPM.

Amp guage? You mean volt meter. Anyway, electric guages need the proper voltage to work accurately. Alternator should put it at around 14V at 1500-2000rpm.
