Cam reccommendations for a 415?
Here's the car's specs, any input would be helpful! Looking for hyd. roller or solid roller.
*dart block 3.875 stroke, 6" rods, forged pistons
*victor jr cylinder heads 215cc intake
*rpm air gap, 750 edelbrock
*compression will be 10:1
*T56 trans, 3.42 rear gear- will be switched to 3.73 eventually
*will use no more than a 100hp N20 shot
*1 7/8 weldup headers either 4" single or 3" duals w/ Hpipe
This is my daily driver in the summer so I'd like to have something that will pull smooth down low (about 1800 cruising rpm) and still give me a lot of power at the strip. When racing rpms' are between 3-5800rpm generally. Some things I'm wondering are: Will I need a small base circle cam? Should I select a "nitrous" cam profile?
I've been running an XE270HR in the current 350 and it feels perfect, with the added cubes and better cylinder heads should I be looking at a 284hr or similar?
