Where do I get a replacement 91-92 passenger headlight assembly?

I'm trying to find a replacement headlight assembly for my 1991 Firebird that I've just acquired. The car is in excellent condition and I got it for a heck of a price from the original owner of the car. The problem is that she hit a deer on the front passenger side. The only damage to the body was that it bent the hood just slightly and barely bent the fender ... but it also ripped off the passenger side headlight in the process.

I've called just about every salvage yard around here and no one has them since the 91-92 headlights were different from the earlier ones. GM has discontinued the item and I can't get one through any parts stores either.

Also, I was curious as to whether or not the pre-91 headlight assemblies with the larger headlights would actually fit and if the headlight connector is the same? The only problem I could see with that is the added weight and I'm unsure if the motors from the 91-92 are different motors and able to support the older headlights. If they fit and are the same, I could just switch both assemblies out with the older style.

Any help or thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.

Ok, scratch the idea about using the older style headlights. I just did some research in one of the other forums and found that they are indeed different.

So now that I know that .... where do I get a replacement assembly?

check out www.hawksthirdgenparts.com or call them, maybe they have a 91-92 salvage/parts car.

expect to pay quite a bit if you get them from here:
www.yearone.com
www.classicindustries.com

you could try your local gm dealer

you could get the part numbers from your gm dealer and see if they are cheaper at www.gmpartsdirect.com
