My car usually runs at about 160 on the highway and 200 in the city , I removed my smog pump and now it runs at 220 highway and 240 in stop go, could it be the removal of the pump or something else?

Have you checked for coolant leaks/loose hose connections?

ok well you may have done the belt routing wrong and the water pump is spinning fast enough. Take your radiator cap off and start car and see if the water is flowing good or not, but make sure to put the cap back on before u turn car off. That is the only thing I can think of why is running hotter. The belt not be on right and the pump is spinning fast enough or something.

 

I followed the instructions off of the site and bought a inch longer belt and routed it the way the tech article sadi, has anyone else had this problem?
