Self-tune up?

is a tune up somthing i can easily do myself? or can i have my mechanic-friend do it? how much do you think it would cost??

you can do it yourself.

tune-up is an old phrase from way back, now there isn't much to "tune up" anymore, as it's all computer controlled.

you have an RS, so TBI injection right? check/replace air filter, fuel filter, check belts and hoses. Check spark plugs.

no carb or timing "tuning" necessary.

oh my gosh thank you. I already replaced the air filter, even though it was almost spotless. i wanted a K&N anyways lol. so that just leaves fuel filter and hoses and belts. that just saved me lots of trouble.

I guess that isn't distributor less ignition, so perhaps the rotor/cap could be replaced....
But yea, it's a screwdriver and pliers sorta job, no fancy tools needed unless something is actually wrong.

Spark plugs never hurt anything, and if your taking them out to look at them you may as well replace them if you know they haven't been done. Wires too if they look old, but it isn't necessary unless theres a problem.

Dist cap and rotor makes you feel like you did something
