corvette valve cover question

i got a set of perimiter style 1984 corvette magnesium valve covers that i want to use on my engine, does it matter what side the valve covers are on? they look like the same cover except the emblem covers a plugged oil fill hole, i'd like to have the grooved lines in the back on both as opposed to 1 in the front and 1 in the back
