stalling! please help

hi, my car is been acting up agian. when i go start it up and warm it up , i step on the gas and then it like jerks, like its chokeing,then it will go fast then slow down and bog down. then if i hold the pedal down long enough it will start to pick up rpms and drive sumwhat normal. and when i completely step on the pedal down it shuts off, when i release my foot it turn back on. sounds like to me something is cloged, like not enough gas is getting to the carb or something. can someoen help me please.

injectors maybe? i dunno just please help if u can

also the check engine light has been n for a couple months. but it ran fine , also i gott to lift off teh pedal after 1st gear to switch. but thats probably due to my trans leak

His point is you gave a half assed description of the problem.I can tell from reading your posts that even if it could be diagnosed on here,you've got no buisness tearing into it yourself if your that unfamiliar with your car.

Re: stalling! please help

That must be a new kind of fuel system... a CARBOJECTOR

Dude your not gonna get any help with a ****head attitude like that.

Check your fuel pressure then the timing and so on...

Have you ever thought that the SES came on for a reason?

I.e. Pull codes?

The SES light doesn't come on for shoots and giggles...

Follow the link for finding ecm codes https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...ight=ecm+codes

For fuel pressure put a fuel pressure guage inline and see what it reads..

Use a paper clip that is bent into a horse shoe and stick it in the a/b connectors on the far right on the top row of pins. Turn the key on and wait until the s.e.s light blinks its codes out. You should get a 12 three times before the trouble codes start coming out. You also might want to check the P.C.V. valve to make sure it isn't clogged. The E.G.R. valve will throw a trouble code if it's the problem. As will the O2 sensor. Another thing worth checking out is the airfilter. Hope that helps.

also, just to be clear, does the car have a carburetor, OR, TBI injection? may make it easier...

But yea, pull the codes, then decode them from the website linked, and/or post them here. ie, if the code is "EGR", EGR may not be the only thing wrong there.

ok, as per usual, the problem could be one of a million things...

32 = EGR, I know that one by heart...
23 = MAT low temp
44 = 02 lean

My guess would be a vacuum leak. You replace the manifolds lately, would that be intake by chance? (just thought i'd check...)
if you have a vacuum gauge, hook it up and see what idle vacuum level is. maybe a can of starter fluid to try and find a vacuum leak.
Anyway, that's my guess, any other opinions?

Haha wheres the love man???

Just take a can of starting fluid and spray the intake and plenum gaskets and see if the idle increases...Then spray any vacuum lines to see if there is an idle increase.

Lost my love for this guy long ago.Really good at asking questions,terrible at listening to answers.

I'm a really nice fellow normally,however.I just feel that honesty is a real good thing,kind or not.

the plenum is the rectangle looking plate that bolts to the top of the intake manifold...and your cfi's bolt to it.. But you dont have a cfi setup, so just worry about the intake manifold and vaccum lines.
