before i click buyit now, tell me if i am wrong

due to a sick truck i am going to put heads and a cam in my car instead of doing a ground up rebuild. I am doing what chevy high performance did in "the goodwrench quest".

goodwrench 350

al. heads with 195 runners, 2.02/1.60 valves, .550 springs, 64cc with guideplates.

comp. magnum 224/224 .470/470 or 230/230 .480/.480 opinions?
/\/\/\/\/\/\ idle quality?/\/\/\/\/\/\
comp hyd. lifters

comp. pro magnum roller rockers 1.52

comp magnum double roller chain

cam button and lock plate.

new chromemoly pushrods. i asssume comp cams can tell me the exact length?

The magnum lobe profiles are fairly out of date compared to their newer xtreme energy designs and such. On the same note, their Magnum grinds are also fairly out of date compared to their Xtreme Energy grinds.

What cylinder heads exactly?

The only way to know what pushrod length is to dummy it up and get a pushrod length checking tool.

I would go with the smaller of the cams, and wait til it's all mocked together to determine correct pushrod length.

i have read good things about these on other boardshttp://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SBC-Strike-Force-Aluminum-Heads-Free-S-H-2-options_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33617QQitemZ8024254718

or

the aluminium heads from larrys performance from the add in CHP

so what you are trying to say is extreme energy.........

how about e.e. 218/218 .454/.454? or

xe274

that's a symmetrical lobe design, 218/218, is that an XE cam? thought they were all asymmetrical....?
I'd highly recommend a lunati voodoo, or a comp xe cam. I think the 274 might be a bit on the large side, 268 would be ok. Just my HO.
