I just got the formula all tuned up (305 TBI) and I bought a new battery and new battery cables. It started about 2 or 3 times and now the battery is dead. I was wondering what could be wrong that would drain the battery so quick. And it's dead to the point where it doesn't turn over at all it only clicks. Thanks!
first thing i would is get the battery charged back up then check for power at the terminal on the back of the alternator, if it is good then start the motor up & check to see if the alternator is

How long does battery last? 1-2 days then dead? Might wanna check the Fuel Pump - on a quiet night, when all is still, raise the trunk glass and put ear to the hump and see if FP is running with KEY OUT of car. If it's running, it's your Oil Pressure Sending Unit - mine did this - killed battery every 1-2 days with the key out - my bad OPSU was running the FP ALWAYS.

Did you fully charge the battery before you put it in? If it's been on the shelf a while, may just be low initial charge.
When I bought the battery we put it in and it started the car two or three times very strongly. I went out maybe 2 or 3 hours later and it only clicked. So it drained it pretty quick. I do need to have the alternator checked. The last time I drove back to school in Alabama my Honda alternator went out, not fun. Thanks for the help so far!

That sounds like too fast of a drain for the FP problem I mentioned.
