Contole module burnout
I have a stock 305 TBI and when I bought the car the guy had replaced the controle module a while back. He said it needed replaced again because it went bad. The car would run good for about 15 minutes and then die and wouldn't start until it cooled down. After I replaced the module it fixed this problem. My question is, what could be causing these modules to go bad so quickly?

Not enough di-electric grease on the back-side can cause them to overheat and shut down...
Also, I believe Karl (rip) had a problem blowing ICM's a while back and found out his alternator was overcharging and shorting them out...

A failing coil will also eat HEI switching modules. So will turning on the ignition without running the engine for extended periods of time. It doesn't happen as much with electronic ignition as it does with points, but it can.
I'd hate to even try to count how many times I've seen this while people are just listening to the radio with the engine off. That's why there is an ACC position on the ignition switch.
