Accel Ignition module
Well she just laid down on me yesterday. Trailored her home and found that the three month old Accel ICM fried and died. Spoke to Accel this morning and they indicated that they had issued with the unit when used with a MSD GM Blaster coil, like my setup. Anyone else have this issue. Whats the best ICM? Delco?

Accel stuff is just junk, plain and simple.
You cannot beat MSD ignition products,IMO.Their HEI module is the best performing unit I've ever seen.I once had a 427 with an HEI,stock other than an MSD module and coil, revved clean to 7300 RPM,all the convincing I need.

I had the same problem with a accell ICM, I also have a MSD 6al and a blaster coil. I just put a ACDelco unit in instead, dont notice any diffence between the 2 except the car runs fine now

It's not a bad idea to stick with one manufacturer for such parts.

Accel does list 2 different ICM's-1 up to '89 then another for '90.I was looking at JEGS site and they give the Distributor # that these modules fit.Possibly you have the wrong module, even the Accel site doesn't say what the difference between them is(have to call thier Tech support on that one).Or you got a bad module - it happens.Only problem I've heard about with Accel has been a quality issue with some of thier coils.I've used both Accel and MSD for years without a problem. For an example of just getting a bad unit I had a Jacob's coil go out on a '95 V8 dakota I had.Coil was still in warranty so I called they said sent it back and they sent out a new one.
