gas filler neck out of place
gas filler neck out of place
I had someone replace my fuel pump and when he put the fuel tank back in place he did not make sure the gas filler neck was centered behind the gas door panel.
The filler neck is at the bottom of the opening when you open the gas door. Now when I pump gas it is hard to fit in pump in because the bottom part of the pump is pressing on the body of my car.
I don't know if this makes sense... but is there any way to adjust the gas filler neck or slightly move the gas tank without removing the rear axle and exhaust?

Same problem here, although part of my problem is I replaced part of the filler neck with fuel line, however I aligned the inner tube to exactly same spot as before.
Should be able to loosen the straps .. wiggle the tank .. push it up and to the side a bit and then tighten the straps again
I'm going to get another tank at the junkyard to fix my problem, since I have fuel leak when the tank is close to 3/4 full and more.

The neck ends up getting bent to remove the tank. It appears it is designed for this. Mine is now tha same as yours after swapping my pump. I just left it because it really doesnt matter and will make it easier to pull the tank out next time if I have a problem.

The 91's had a recall, bad filler neck. However I seriously doubt they would repair/replace my tank after me installing flexible fuel line instead. Besides, no way I would let them keep my babe for several days.

just had that done and it only calls for 4.3 hours. You should be able to drop it off in the morning and pick it up in the early afternoon. Call your local pontiac dealer and ask nicely if he will check for recalls. You will need the vin #.
I told the dealership that I would like them to order the parts before they see the car/ with title in hand. What do they car, its more business for them.
Vorgath do you think the mechanic is going to stop, put your car back together and get paid nothing on the 4.3 hours the job calls for because he finds out you rigged the tank.
