upgraded cam and spark timing
I heard I should advance more the spark if I'm using a hotter cam than stock. Perhaps because of the earlier open valve event? The thing is I am running at 14 degrees of initial timing right now with no knock and the car feels as it could benefit from a slightly more advance timing. Maybe it's just a the need of steeper gears. Anyone?

14* of static timing seems like alot of timing. Have you set the timing correctly by disconnecting the EST wire? (I forget sometimes, but it is apparant that something is wrong with the timing jumping all over the place)
If yes, if you think that you can use more static timing, then bump up the static timing by 2*, if you get pinging at WOT or any other load case, bump it back 2*.
This is not the best time of year to do this WOT testing because of the colder weather (assuming you are in the North).
