you need a .030 bore on the block. And you need a 400 crank. There is also some machining that has to be done to the block for clearance and such that im not to sure about. Someone with some more knowledge will fill in the blanks.

Not necesarily a 400 crank, just a crank with a 3.75 stroke. Personally I dont think I would bother with a 400 crank when you can get an aftermarket cast steel crank for under 200 bucks.

The machining is required on the main journals. The 400 uses a bigger journal. They grind it down to the 350 main size.

The work doesnt end there though. You will have to clearance the block and usually rods also. Many people run a small base circle cam, to aid in clearance.

I used a aftermaket 383 crank, 383 pistons and cam clearanced 5.7 rods. You may have to remove some material from the block to clear your rods. There are many more variables when building this or any engine.

Using a 400 crank is just stupid and to much of a hassle for nothing. What you want is a 3.75" crank with 350 journals, aka a 383 crank.
