stupid angle plug head question
are the locations of the spark plug hole in the same spot on all angle plug heads- both factory and aftermarket? the reason i ask is because i am doing another v8 engine swap in my s10- and from what i have read- it's just about impossible to find a set of headers to fit angle plug heads. i have a set of hedman long tubes for the project. i also have a set of 113 heads (they are just left over from something else- not planning on using them on this swap). just out of curiosity i held the headers up to both heads- and i don't think there would be any problems with angled plugs- looks like straight plugs would be more of a problem. just trying to make sure the plug locations were the same on all head suppliers- before i went and ordered the wrong thing.

was this on your third gen or on an s10 v8 swap also? it looks to me like the more of an angle the better- as far as getting to the plugs is concerned. if i do have to take a header off to get to the plug- that would suck- but it would be better than the header not fitting at all because of the plug.

hehe ya pretty much. But it might be the same because a V8 in a S10 is gonna be pretty tight. The headers are going to be closer to the heads than would be in a larger engine compartment. I guess I would just check it out, if you have the headers check the distance between the flange and the closest part of the header to get a better idea. Sorry I can't help more.

To answer your question, the spark plug location is not in the exact same location or angle on angle plug heads. Same for straight plug heads.

Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
Moving the spark plug is an inevitable result sometimes of improving the design of the heads.
If everything about all aftermarket heads was the same as stock, then there wouldn't be much point in their existence in the first place, now would there.
