My dyno runs

I went and did some baseline chassis dyno runs tonight with my car before I start hacking away at the engine.

Bottomline; 362 HP @ 5500 RPM & 400 TQ @ 4000 RPM. About what I expected.

Here is a scan of the graph...the numbers on the graph are at the rear wheels. Conversion from RWHP to crank HP for the Dynojet is about 1.168.

http://www.rbvracing.com/dyno/dyno_b..._feb142006.gif

Specs on the engine as purchased:
-SBC 355 CID
-Trick Flow Twisted Wedge alum. heads
-Edelbrock Performer RPM cam & intake
-Edelbrock 750cfm carb
-Edelbrock headers 1-5/8" primaries
-3" mandrel bent custom exhaust w/ Dynomax 1000 cfm muffler

Upcoming mods: Compcam roller cam setup, Crane 1.6 ratio roller rockers, street/strip prepped 750 Qjet, better exhaust. The HP should stay about the same, but the torque will be better in the lower range for autocrossing.

Congrats there friend. Nice setup you have. Who knows, with those mods, you could be close to tapping the 400hp mark (mostly depending on the cam), but if those numbers stay the same, I'd say you'd be there.

not bad, that's about the stock power level and powerband for an LS1. very smooth. i must be missing the 362hp and 400tq unless you're bench racing from your rear wheel numbers.

362 & 400 crank numbers are based on a 16% powertrain loss which from what people have been telling me is still a little low. Might be even closer to 18%.

Forgot to add, that run indicated by the red line with almost 10 extra RWHP, was with the 305HO dual snorkel taken off. Nasty little thing for this kind of power. I've already bought a ram air box with a 14x3 K&N.
