305 to a 350
i hav a 305 with 350 heads in my 1992 camaro rs and my friend has a 350 4 bolt main block he has 4sale. he told me he has pistons in it the crank, freeze plugs, etc, etc, well i was wondering is it possible if i can take all of my stuff off of my 305 block minus the pistons, and put it on the 350 with hypertech or forged pistons? here is a list of all my stuff: oh yea he's giving me the block for $800 is this a good deal or should it be lower than that!! just let me no ur input cuz im kinda new to the engine compartment i do alot of custom wiring and etc.

Can't say if it will all switch over (though 90% should, if not all of it), but unless that's some special 350, it's not worth $800.
You can get a 350 4 bolt in the junk yard for $200-300 easy.
Also, what year block is the 350? If it is 1987 or earlier, you will have to change the flexplate I believe, if not other things.

im not really sure but i do hav the id# 14010207 i herd the rockers wont clear or something like that i dont wanna bore the 305 because my cylinder walls will be to thin i just really wanna no if this project is possible and i can talk to my friend about giving me the block for about $400

Ok, that is a 1980-1985 350, and can be either a 2 or 4 bolt main (so make sure to check).
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but you need to change the flexplate to a 1986-earlier one, due to the different rear main seal setup.

has it been machined, and those are new pistons? If it's old, and you think you'll need it machined, you are going to be throwing out the pistons, and probably machining the crank. So you're getting a rebuildable 350 block and crank. That's only worth $300 maybe.
*If* the machine work is done, and those are new pistons, and it's ready to run (which sounds like the case, since you mentioned freeze plugs...) then that's an ok deal.
