Full Ignition

I'm planning on doing a full MSD ignition (Distributor, Box, Coil, Wires, Plugs) on my 305 TPI.... any one done this before or have any reccomendations on parts to get?

Im basically confused on which distributor to get and if i should get a vacuum or mechanicall advance.

Also I wanted to do the remote timing control that i could adjust from the drivers seat... any suggestions?

Thanks

Why?

They should have a direct replacement distributor, just get that one. I would get a 6AL box b/c it has a rev limiter in it.

MSD has a distrbutor specifically for the computer controlled TPI engines. Thats the one you want. The MSD part number is 8366. It is for 1987-1993 cars. It is just a plug-and-play deal for a TPI car... drop it in, hook up the factory wiring, and go (from MSD's website)

Should be. The distributor for the TPI engines doesn't say it needs an ignition box like alot of the other dissys do, so you probably don't need it. Just the coil, wires and plugs.

Like said above, the 8366 is a drop in. You don't need a box, but it's nice to have one. A little better burn and a rev limiter.

Does MSD make an 8-pin hei module for use in that dizzy? All I've found is their take on a 4-pin module, which won't work with the computer controlled diz. Also, does it come with the special gear for use with roller cams?
