AC starts the car

I've got a 91 RS with a 350 TBI and I've been having problems getting it started. The car will only start if the air conditioner is on. If i turn the AC off while the car is on it will die.

Is the solution to this a new starter? I've been wondering about the throttle kicker relay. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

First, do you mean the engine won't crank if the AC is not on? Or, will it crank but not run?

AFAIK, there is no throttle kicker on an EFI engine. Extra idle for load compensation from an AC is done with the IAC. The ECM will add a specified number of steps or increase the target idle RPM when the AC is turned on.

Have you cleaned the throttle body lately?

The solution is not a new starter, if it will start the car, it is working. However, there is something stange going on with the ignition wiring or the ECM
